New GM HR6 A/C Compressor With 6 Groove Clutch Assembly Measuring 4.25″ Diameter, .60″ Gauge Line – 3 Mounting Ears – Type I – All Threaded – O-Ring Hose Manifold – 8mm Pin Coil @ 2 O’Clock – “Square” Configuration – No Switch Ports
The GM HR6 has actually been replaced with the HD6 compressor. External changes are visual only (appears slightly different), but internally several upgrades were made. The HD6 compressors mounts and functions exactly as did the HR6. HR6 and HD6 compressors are 5 piston, 10 cylinder units.
The Accumulator or Filter Drier should always be replaced when the Air Conditioning System is opened.
